Kai turns 7!!

This is Kai with some of his friends eating their cupcakes for his 7th birthday! He wanted me to just frost the cupcakes so that he and his friends could decorate their own. Easy for me, so that worked out great!!

We had a few beautiful days, so we spent them hanging poolside. I got my first sunburn of the season from one of these days, so I'm finally peeling as of now. The kids and I swam for about 30 minutes yesterday just before dinner because it was going to get a little chilly today!

Kevin's sister Jen, and her husband went to Las Vegas for a weekend to look for a home since they will be moving there shortly. They left their 3 little kids with us and we had a fun time with them! It was fun to have a little 3 year old in the house!! This is Kai and Saydria with their cousins watching a movie before bed one night.

My dear friend Kristin came for a visit! She is moving with her husband and 2 little kids to our old stomping grounds in OH! Wouldn't you know it? We move away, and she moves from CA to OH!! She and I have been friends since we were in diapers. We stayed good friends through high school even though she was 2 years older than me. We had some classes together and did dance/cheer together. She came to visit me when we lived in OH, so it was very nice to meet up again and have her family stay with us a night.

Brayden performed in Hope of America at the Marriott Center at BYU. It was wonderful!! It was for all the 5th graders from all over UT. (This isn't all of them, they performed on various nights at various places.) It was really fun to watch!

Also, Brayden recently tested for the gifted program (something he wanted to do) and scored nearly perfect (30 points higher than the average gifted tester in reading and math). We are happy for him and excited that he's so happy with himself! He tested in OH and did very well and was able to be placed, but they used the lottery system to pull 2 students from each grade and he didn't get in. Here, the local elementary is full and so we will either have to drive him 30 min. one-way or wait to get into the local advanced placement class. The jury is still out, but we are leaning towards the latter. :)
