Cookie Swap!!

 I've done these for several years now because I get them by request, but I don't mind because they are pretty fun to make. (If you can say that cookie-making is fun!)

 This is called a Cinnamon Spiral cookie. It was the first time I'd made it. I got the recipe from my cookie swap book that my mother-in-law gave me a couple years ago. They turned out really good. This is the before picture.

This is the after picture. There is cream cheese in the dough and so I knew we would like them. They definitely turned out better than what my cinnamon rolls usually turn out. I forgot to take pics of all the cookies from the cookie swap I hosted! What a rookie move, huh?

Dee-Oh-Jee

We bought a dog. Right now, I'm feeling a bit worried about the decision. He's super cute, very sweet (he's only 3 months old) and our children love him. However, we are working on house training him...and he's still learning. We put him in his crate so he won't take care of business in the house and we were told at the house training class we took that he wouldn't potty in his crate. That was a lie. If any of you have a dog and have been through this, please comment and reassure me. I want this to work so I don't have to give him to a new little family because our children would be sad. He has gone potty outside a few times, but when we were at church he pottied in his crate. He pottied last night in it as well. I woke up at 3:30 AM to his barking and took  him out and realized he already peed in it. I may need professional help after this.

Stockings are hung by the chimney with care...

Our mantle is kinda high up so I was looking for ideas on hanging the stockings. I made these last year, last minute and haven't made new ones yet...I will eventually. :) I'm not crazy about these at all (don't look closely) but the kids love them because I let them pick out the color felt they wanted. So, I used some hooks for "over the door" and pounded them flat on the top so they could just sit on there. Then, I wrapped bricks with batting and then with Christmas wrapping paper and set them on the flat part of the hooks to hold them. So, they are a cheap, kinda cute way to make stocking hangers. The kids just wanted them hung up so I had to do something in a hurry for now. I have big dreams for making some darling stockings. Give me til next year. I have stuff going on and really, the kids just want them full. :)

Catwalk Nails!!

I've been working on a little website for the past few months in a learn-as-I-go process and it's done! I launched it on Saturday night, although I will still need to do a little editing like the social media button, etc. I added it ealier, but I didn't like the placement of it, so I need to read more on how to move it. I'm not a computer person at all, so it's been a good learning experience for me. Please check out my website at catwalknails.com and let me know what you think!
